I am of Navajo and Hawaiian descent. I do not speak my mother tongue, but I do wish to speak them both. I come from a household where Diné bizaad (Navajo language) was not spoken very often, mostly small phrases or basic words. As far as the Hawaiian language, I knew very minimal amounts of words. My efforts to "re-learn" Diné bizaad right now are taking language classes at my university and reinforcing it back at home in the household.
